It’s true that in the corporate structure of News Corp, Fox News is under the entertainment division. But the reason they’re allowed to make stuff up is because they argued in court that the news has no obligation to tell the truth and a U.S. court agreed with them. It was considered to be a first amendment issue.
They went to court and fought for the right to lie to their audience.
..wut.
