People can have different ideas about canon characters and their characteristics. I can think Akito is one way because of a certain scene, while your idea might be completely different. All of it is up to interpretation by the fanbase, and that makes it beautiful — it’s different.
And if people have a bit of fun with characters in different settings, what harm does it do? This series is enjoyed by many people for many reasons. If a person’s enjoyment comes from making Kyo the manager of a baby store and he has a cotton candy addiction, what’s wrong with that? There’s no reason to police people’s experiences with their fandoms just because it’s not something you would do.
